Jadul tak berarti usang, mungkin itu kata-kata yang cocok untuk ponsel modem satu ini. Walaupun sudah banyak di pasaran ponsel modem yang lebih canggih dan lebih lengkap fitur-fiturnya tetapi ponsel bundling provider smart ini tetap menjadi primadona para maniak internet yang terbatas dengan biaya. Betapa tidak, untuk mendapatkan ponsel modem ini tidaklah perlu merogoh kocek dalam-dalam. Untuk penerus ddari ponsel ini pun sudah banyak seperti hairer C700 atau Zte c261 yang sudah terlengkapi dengan web browsing, fitur Mp3 dan memory card.

Pada kesempatan ini saya akan sedikit mengulas penginstalan ataupun pemakaian modem ponsel ini baik di sistem operasi Windows maupun bagi para pengguna open source. Berbicara masalah sistem operasi, mungkin dari kita tidak akan meragukan windows karena OS ini merupakan primadona semua kalangan dan berhasil menyihir pelanggannya dengan kekompatibelan nya. Tak bisa di pungkiri hampir semua pabrikan diciptakan drivernya untuk OS windows ini, termasuk ponsel yang satu ini. Tapi tak usah kuatir karena OS opensource lainnya pun masih bisa menggunakan modem ini walaupun tidak direkomendasikan oleh pabrikannya.

Untuk pertama kita akan membahas penginstalan modem haier D1200p di windows baik 200/XP maupun windows vista dan seven.

1. Lakukan penginstalan driver modem ponsel ini di windows anda sampai komplit.
2. Hubungkan ponsel dengan komputer, jika meminta driver maka ambilkan di tempat anda menginstal driver modem tadi. Biasanya ada di ekstensi "C:\Program Files\VIA Telecom\VIA CBP USB Driver" untuk windows Xp dan "C:\Program Files\VIA Telecom\VIA USB Driver" untuk windows vista dan windows seven. Dan pastikan modem teridentifikasi dan siap untuk digunakan.
3. Buat koneksi internetnya di "Control panel -> Network and Internet Connections -> Network Connections" kemudian pilih "Create new connection". setelah keluar perintah menu kemudian pilih next. Pilih Connect to the internet kemudian klik next. Kemudian pilih Setup my connection manually dan klik next. Setelah itu pilih Connect using dial-up modem dan klik next. Setelah itu pilih driver yang terinstall di komputer yaitu Modem-VIA Telecom CBP USB Modem dan pilih next. Kemudian isi ISP name dengan nama koneksi yang akan kita gunakan misalnya kita namai dengan smart dan kemudian lanjutkan dengan mengklik next. Untuk phone number kita isi dengan #777 kemudian next lagi. Setelah itu kita akan diminta isian dan harus kita isi seperti isian berikut ini:
   username : smart
   password : smart
   confirm password: smart
   kemudian klik next dan finish.
4. Lakukan eksekusi dial-up dengan modem yang kita gunakan melalui start -> Connect to -> smart. kemudial pilih dial. Tunggu sampai terkoneksi dengan baik dan sempurna.
5. Buka salah satu web browser dan selamat berinternet.

Soft reset
A soft reset restarts the PDA phone but does not erase any program data or system settings.

To perform a soft reset:
1. Locate the recessed Reset button at the bottom of the phone.
2. Insert the stylus into the recess to trigger the Reset button. Hold the Reset button down until the screen fades off.
3. Release the stylus from the Reset button to restart the phone.

Hard reset
A hard reset restarts the PDA phone and erases all program data and system settings. After a hard reset, your phone returns to its default settings and loses all information that is not recorded in ROM.

To perform a hard reset:
1. Locate the recessed Reset button at the bottom of the phone.
2. Press and hold down the Power button.
3. Without removing the Power button, insert the stylus into the recess to trigger the Reset button. Hold down both the Power button and the Reset button until the screen fades off.
4. When the screen has faded off completely, release both the Power button and the stylus.
5. You will notice the Power indicator light up green, at this point, press the Power button to turn ON the PDA phone.

BenQ P51 Soft reset

To perform a soft reset:
1. Locate the recessed Reset (7) at the bottom of the phone.
2. Insert the stylus into the recess to trigger Reset. Hold Reset down until the screen fades off.
3. Release the stylus from the Reset button to restart the phone.
NB: 7 Reset button Insert the stylus in to the recess to trigger the reset button.



BenQ P51 Hard reset

As with a soft reset, a hard reset restarts the PDA phone without erasing any data, program, or system settings. But a hard reset also resets the system time to the default value (1 January, 2006).

To perform a hard reset:
1. Locate the recessed Reset at the bottom of the phone.
2. Press and hold down Power.
3. Without releasing Power, insert the stylus into the recess to trigger Reset. Hold down both Power and Reset until the screen fades off.
4. When the screen has faded off completely, release both Power and the stylus.

NB: 1 Power button
- Press to power off or on (entering or leaving the sleep mode).
- Long press to turn the backlight off or on (consuming more
power than the sleep mode).

BenQ P51 Clean boot


A clean boot restarts the PDA phone by erasing all data and programs as well as system settings, and thus returns to its factory default state.

To perform a clean reset:
1. Locate the recessed Reset at the bottom of the PDA phone.
2. Press and hold down Power (1).
3. Without releasing Power, insert the stylus into the recess to trigger Reset. Hold down both Power and Reset until the screen fades off.
4. When the screen has faded off completely, release both Power and the stylus.
5. Long press Send.
6. Press Y to confirm the clean boot.
